Burnt leaf, black,
rocks and curls
in the flames.
Remnants fracture
at glowing veins
swallowed into ashes.
Pale dust swirls,
the wind inhales,
exhales over seed.
Ashes returned.
Struggle emerges green
into the sun.

Wonderful Ode, Joanne, Death As the Master Gardener. And even more wonderful to me, there’s no title. It feels top be a splendor of expression Not needing a title, a piece of consummate Nature in and of its own verses.
Thanks, Jordan! I originally wrote this in response to watching a leaf burn along the veins and create that lattice-work pattern. Fascinating imagery that Nature gives us. 🙂
You’re most welcome, Joanne! Love it use, the fascinating imagery that Nature gives is. 🙂
